An Evening with Gus Peret and Aunt Hazel

“Aunt Hazel,” a great-granddaughter of Charles Applegate, was married to Gus Peret, longtime Yoncalla resident and renowned sharpshooter, big game hunter, photographer, author, and world traveler. Their letters, journals, photos, and film footage document their adventures. Drawing on this rich trove, we are putting together a program on Gus and Hazel to present to the public on the evening of November 5th. It will be a gala evening event, with refreshments, speakers, a sampling of archival documents and photos, and a showing of rare and unique film footage. The proceeds from the evening will help to further our efforts to catalogue and preserve the wealth of materials in the Peret Collection.
